The Army of Zerubbabel

And Jesus, looking at them, said: 'With men this is not possible; but with God all things are possible.'

However, maybe to the world, at large, there must be some other plan or something...maybe they do not understand how BIG God IS and that He can do ALL things that HE wills, regardless of their nature, purpose, or cause!!

Jesus said to him, 'If you are able! All things are possible to him who has faith.'

~ Mark 9:23

Not only God, but man, too! When we believe in the power of God, THAT POWER IS GIVEN TO US in His Name! To do wonderful things for His purpose!

And the heaven was open; and I saw a white horse, and he who was seated on it was named Certain and True; and he is judging and making war in righteousness.

And his eyes are a flame of fire, and crowns are on his head; and he has a name in writing, of which no man has knowledge but himself.

And he is clothed in a robe washed with blood: and his name is The Word of God.

And the armies which are in heaven went after him on white horses, clothed in delicate linen, white and clean.

And out of his mouth comes a sharp sword, with which he overcomes the nations: and he has rule over them with a rod of iron: and he is crushing with his feet the grapes of the strong wrath of God the Ruler of all.

And on his robe and on his leg is a name:
KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

This triumphant anointed 'Man of War' will be not of the sort any of us have ever seen nor have we conceived of the manner in which the victory will be brought to manifested fruition by the armies who follow after, dressed in clean white linen, under His leadership:

This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying:
'Not by force or by power, but by my spirit,' says the Lord of armies.

~ Zechariah 4:6

Zerubbabel's hands began the 'house' and Zerubbabel will bring the capstone forth which will complete the work of the building:

Who are you, O great mountain?
before Zerubbabel you will become level:
and he will let all see the headstone,
with cries of Grace, grace, to it.

~ Zechariah 4:7

I refer not to a building of brick and stone but of men; each one being a 'portable' temple of the LORD, and all together, these temples who live on Earth will bring the reality of the New Jerusalem to light - the assembly of so many temples with the light of God shining forth from their minds (holy of holies) will be the glory of the NEW CITY!

Glory that is God's and not man's!

Zerubbabel means: 'a stranger at Babylon; dispersion of confusion'

When the tower of Babel fell, in ancient Mesopotamia, there manifested confusion among men upon the earth. God did not want us to make a name for ourselves:

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they settled there. And they said to one another: 'Let's go and make brick, and burn them thoroughly.' And they had brick for stone and slime for mortar.

And they said: 'Let's go and build us a city and a tower, with a top reaching to heaven; and let's make a name for ourselves in case we are scattered across the face of the whole earth.'

And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the children of men had built.

~ Genesis 11:2-5

The 'city' they were building was not completed.

Since then, chaos (man/satan) and confusion (not order) has ruled this world; and the form of such has been largely shaped as deception (satan).
Man cannot help but deceive himself; therefore we deceive ourselves first and then proceed to deceive one another. We don't trust ourselves (I'm speaking generally here) and so we seek out God through those we think we can trust (other men) instead of through our own hearts – directly disobeying the very God we seek! And then, we accuse one another (act as satans) of lying about God when our ideas don't mesh with one another's!

But the battle of Armageddon will be fought with
trumpets, lamps, and pitchers!

Gideon - who is also called Jerubaal - is our 'type' of anointed military leader, the shadow of the rider of the White Horse and his army represents the 'White-as-Snow Virgin Army'!

Jerubaal means: he that defends Baal, let Baal defend his cause.
Read 'Baal' here in its literal and original meaning in the land of Canaan which is: 'Lord' as in 'master' and also 'husband.'

These are the Conquering Anointed: who save in the name of the LORD (Jesus Christ) who will come to lead Israel to conquer confusion and deception!

the trumpets represent the loud cry of truth
truth is the true weapon of destruction for the 'evil' men of Babylon (flesh)
truth is the double edged sword
who lives by the sword must die by the sword!
the lamps are the light of God
the pitchers (clay) represent men as vessels cleansed and prepared for this purpose!!!!

Be sure and read the whole 7th chapter of Judges for the story of Gideon's battle and the LORD's victory:

in verse 2 we see that 22,000 men in Gideon's forces are reduced to 10,000
in verse 5 we find God has a (seemingly) puzzling way of filtering this number down to even less
'drinking like dogs.' Israelites who drink as dogs drink?!?!?(God's peculiar people prepared for battle and victory).

*Remember that gentiles were often referred to as 'dogs' by those within the camp of Israel!!! But yet these 'dogs' are within the ranks of Gideon's army, and so truly are Israelites!

And notice, too, why God requires such a small number of men (souls) to conquer the enemy: we are to fight and make a name for God not for ourselves!!! (verse 2 also)

It's not going to take that many people and it's not going to take any bloodshed at all, just:

trust
truth
forbearance in the NAME of the LORD God of Israel.

This is the anointed Captain of the Host who will overcome the confusion (of man's man-made tower) by dispersing it with the power of God's spirit which is, in all its forms and manifestations order and truth!!!

Now you know why those free bibles in motel rooms are called Gideon's bibles!!
